To Mom, who communicated to me very early in my life the way of deep woods, wild things, the beauty there in the verdent Oregon forests near Corvallis and Alsea; Dad, who taught me to love the Wyoming wilderness and the pursuit of the wily trout; my brothers Bob and Al, unequaled and lasting fishing companions; Margot, my daughter, and her mother, Charlotte; lastly, my sister,Susan.

Am interested to see what fines those companies will pay for all the destruction caused in the river. Hopefully, the fines will be large enough to cause more careful driving and routing in the future. It's a pity that all those animals were hurt - not just one generation but several - through such carelessness.
